History
Golf in Kelowna began in 1899 on a nine-hole course near today's City Hall. In 1920 members bought the Wolaston property on Glenmore Drive, formed the Kelowna Golf Club and built nine holes with sand greens, which grew to 18 holes by 1926. A.V. Macan designed a new 18-hole layout that opened in 1962. New holes were built in the late 1990s after Glenmore Drive was widened, and since 2006 the course has been renovated under a master plan by John Harbottle and later Jeff Mingay.
