History
Gleneagles opened on July 1, 1927. It was a nine-hole layout by A.V. Macan, built on Peter Larson's former pioneer ranch as part of the Gleneagles subdivision developed by General Robert Clark and Frank Merrick. In 1951 it was bought by Jewish owners and became Metro Vancouver's first Jewish golf club, and the District of West Vancouver acquired it after a municipal plebiscite in 1958. The District still runs it as a public course, and the clubhouse with its 1954 Great Hall is a heritage building.
