History

The course started in the 1910s as a simple 9-hole golf course on the Hudson's Bay Company Athletic Grounds. The grounds were at Point McKay, north of the McKay homestead, and also took in land north of Bowness Road in what is now Calgary's Parkdale community. By the mid-1930s the athletic organization seems to have stopped using the site, and the links carried on as the Parkdale Golf Course. The land was later built over, and it is now part of the Parkdale and Point McKay residential areas beside the Bow River.
