History
Earl Grey Golf Club was founded in 1919, when Major Duncan Stuart set up a five-hole course on leased land near Earl Grey School in Calgary's Mount Royal district. The club grew to 18 holes, with club member Philip Boese credited with the 18-hole layout (usually dated 1933), and it moved several times before settling on city-leased land above the Glenmore Reservoir. In 2017–18 Wayne Carleton renovated the course, rebuilding seven holes after the city put a public pathway along the escarpment, in time for the club's centennial.
