History

The course began in 1925 as Cecil White's Riverside Golf Course in the Humber Valley in Etobicoke. White expanded it in 1928 onto land north of today's Highway 401. The Deakin brothers bought it in 1932, renamed it Pine Point and built a Tudor-style clubhouse, which was rebuilt after a fire in 1936. The Ontario Highways Department expropriated the land in 1947 for Highway 401, and the owners sold around 1950. In 1957 the Township of Etobicoke reopened part of the old course as Pine Point Park, and the former clubhouse at 15 Grierson Road is now a banquet hall and community centre.
