History
The club was formed in 1899 as a nine-hole course at Pinafore Park in St. Thomas, moved to a Talbot Street site in 1909 as the Elgin Golf and Country Club, and in 1922 bought the Whaley farm at Union, becoming the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club. Stanley Thompson designed the new 18-hole course; nine holes opened in June 1923 and all 18 by 1927. C.E. "Robbie" Robinson lengthened the course onto land acquired in 1970, and Doug Carrick restored Thompson features between 1995 and 2000.
