History

Bylaws for a new club were drafted in 1924, and after three years spent acquiring a 143-acre property on Craigflower Road the Gorge Vale Golf Club was formally established in 1927. A. Vernon Macan designed the course, which opened around 1930. Les Furber rebuilt sixteen greens to USGA standards and added water hazards, extra tees and drainage in a renovation finished in 2003.
