History

The club started in 1897 with a four-hole course on Burnham Point on Little Lake. In 1898 it moved to Auburn Hill beside the Trent Canal, where it played a 2,800-yard nine-hole course for about twenty years and added the Beechwood property starting in 1917. Stanley Thompson expanded it to an 18-hole layout in 1929-31. In 1990 the club built new 4th, 5th and 6th holes to replace three holes it had sold to a condominium developer.
