History
Shaganappi Point was built by the City of Calgary in 1915 as Calgary's first municipal golf course. It began as a basic 18-hole layout, reportedly finished in 26 days for $637.26, and was meant to add park space and bring more riders onto the streetcars. It is now a 27-hole city-run facility (an 18-hole course plus the Valley Nine) and has been added to Calgary's Inventory of Evaluated Historic Resources.
