History
Orchard Beach Golf & Country Club is a nine-hole course in Keswick, Ontario, overlooking Cook's Bay on Lake Simcoe. It was established in 1926 to a design by Stanley Thompson, and the club says it has kept much of his original layout. According to the club, the idea for Hockey Night in Canada came about in 1929 during a round on its sixth hole, when Jack MacLaren made a deal with the owner of the Toronto hockey team.
