History
The Edmonton Country Club laid out a golf course south of Hardisty House in 1896. After the house burned in 1906, the links moved slightly west in 1907 and became a nine-hole course, which the club ran until 1912, when the City of Edmonton bought the land. The course reopened as the Municipal Golf Links when Victoria Park opened in May 1914, grew to 18 holes by 1927 and to 27 by 1950, and today is an 18-hole city course known as Canada's oldest municipal golf course.
