History
Oakville Golf Club was founded in 1921 on Sixth Line along Sixteen Mile Creek, on land owned by the Lightbourn family; E.T. (Ted) Lightbourn was a founding member and the first president (1921–1932). Toronto Golf Club professional George Cumming laid out the original holes along the valley of Munn's Creek, and the club grew into a private, member-owned nine-hole course. Architect Jeff Mingay drew up a long-range improvement plan in 2009 and later led a bunker renovation, completed around 2012.
