Scarboro Golf & Country Club, 2025Scarboro Golf & Country Club, 1939

History

The club was founded in 1912 by stockbroker A.E. Ames, and George Cumming's original 18-hole course and clubhouse opened formally in 1914 in the Woburn area of Scarborough, along Highland Creek. In 1924 A.W. Tillinghast rebuilt the layout, which is his only design in Canada, and Ian Andrew and Gil Hanse restored Tillinghast's features in 2007. The club has hosted the Canadian Open four times, most recently in 1963.
