History

After selling its original Stanley Thompson course near Lawrence Avenue to developers in 1954, Cedar Brae moved to Steeles Avenue East, where Golf Leaseholds Limited built a course just west of the present property. In 1962 Mac Frost traded for 156 acres in the Rouge River valley, and a new C.E. "Robbie" Robinson-designed 18-hole Valley course was completed there in 1969; the members bought the course and clubhouse in 1970. Doug Carrick and later Ian Andrew (consulting architect from 2011) have since done work on the course.
