History
Three directors of the Colonial Realty Company bought the Appleby farm along Mimico Creek in 1923 and incorporated Islington Golf Club; the first sod was turned in October 1923 and 18 holes were ready for play in August 1924. The course was an early design by Stanley Thompson. After a 2013 flood and harsh 2013-14 winter damaged the course, consulting architect Ian Andrew rebuilt all the greens and restored some of Thompson's original features.
