History

The club was formed in 1897 and played on several temporary courses before buying about 100 acres from the CPR beside the Elbow River in 1910. The new course and clubhouse opened in 1911 with 15 of 18 planned holes, and in 1922 the club hired Willie Park Jr. to redesign the course; his layout is still the basis of today's course. Later changes were made by Stanley Thompson, Robbie Robinson and Les Furber, and Ron Forse restored Park's style between 2005 and 2007.
