History

The Toronto Hunt was founded in 1843 as a fox-hunting club by British garrison officers and moved to its Kingston Road site in Scarborough in 1895, with golf first played there in 1896. Willie Park Jr. laid out a new nine-hole course in 1918 split across Kingston Road, and after buying land to the west in 1937 the club hired George Cumming to design the present nine south of the road along the Scarborough Bluffs, which opened in 1944. Thomas McBroom has guided renovations since the early 1980s.
