History

The club was founded in 1913. Its first nine-hole course was on land that is now Sunnidale Park, and the Barrie Golf Club and Barrie Country Club merged in 1920. As the city grew around it, the club moved to farmland on St. Vincent Street in Vespra (now Springwater) Township, where the clubhouse opened in 1969 and golf began on June 1, 1970 on an 18-hole course credited to Robert Moote. Graham Cooke renovated the course around 2002, a new clubhouse opened in 2007–08, and the property became part of the City of Barrie through annexation on January 1, 2026.
