History

The Regal Golf Club moved in 1923 from its earlier 9-hole site near Stanley Jones School to city-leased land at Winona Place (Winston Heights–Mountview) in the Nose Creek valley, where it built an 18-hole course. The layout was moved north in 1952 because of the Trans-Canada Highway route along 16th Avenue and housing development. The Regal merged with Calgary Elks Lodge #4 in 1967, Les Furber redesigned the course in 1992, and the club was renamed The Winston Golf Club in 2017.
