History

The London Hunt and Country Club's Glenmore course began as a nine-hole layout around 1900 near Richmond Street and Windermere Road. George Cumming redesigned it into an 18-hole course in 1916, and from 1924 it shared land with the new University of Western Ontario campus, running between university buildings and along the Thames River and Medway Creek. It hosted Canadian Opens, the 1954 America's Cup and Canadian Amateur, but Western's growth forced the club to move to a new Robert Trent Jones course on Oxford Street West in 1959–60, and the old course land is now part of the Western University campus.
