History
Kanawaki was set up by members of the Outremont Golf Club, who leased swampy land on the Kahnawake reserve across the St. Lawrence from Lachine. The club was incorporated in 1912. The course was laid out to a plan by Royal Montreal professional Charles Murray and his brother Albert; fifteen holes opened in late summer 1913 and all eighteen were in play by 1914. The Outremont and Kanawaki clubs merged in 1922, and in 2005 the club was a filming location for "The Greatest Game Ever Played".
