History
The course was laid out in the late 1880s by local bank manager Harry Stennent, and the club was formally organized as Simcoe Golf Club in 1895. It bought land in 1911 and incorporated as Norfolk Golf Club in 1912, opening a new clubhouse in 1914 and expanding onto land bought in 1922. Work on a new routing began in 1932, and the layout finished in 1935 is still played today; the club says its design was influenced by Stanley Thompson, but historians credit the rerouting to member Dr. Jim Sihler.
