History

The London Hunt Club, formally organized in 1885, had to leave its leased course on the University of Western Ontario grounds as the university grew. In 1957 it bought the farms of the Sir Adam Beck Sanatorium in Byron, on the city's west side by the Thames River, where Robert Trent Jones laid out the new course, which opened in 1960 and was nicknamed "Augusta North." Rees Jones redesigned it in 2000 and Michael Hurdzan renovated it around 2020; the course has hosted the 1970 Canadian Open and the Canadian Women's Open in 1993, 2006 and 2014.
