History

Lake St. George Golf Club opened in 1952 as a nine-hole course on the shore of Lake St. George, between Orillia and Gravenhurst. Ed Leeder built it; he had worked at Toronto Golf Club under George Cumming. Robbie Robinson added a second nine in 1974 and Bob Moote a third in 2002, giving the family-run public club its current 27 holes (North, South and West).
