History
Marlborough Golf & Country Club was in Cartierville, on Montreal's north side. Stanley Thompson laid out the club's land in 1922–23 as an 18-hole championship course plus a 9-hole ladies' course; a temporary nine was built first, and the full course opened in 1924. The course ran from its clubhouse on Gouin Boulevard West south to the CN Deux-Montagnes rail line, west of Somerset Road. It was sold for development in the early 1960s and closed around 1965. The land is now covered by houses, duplexes and townhouses in the Saint-Laurent/Cartierville area, and only the street name Chemin du Golf remains as a reminder.
