History

Candiac Golf Club was an 18-hole semi-private course on chemin d'Auteuil in Candiac. Marcel Notz designed it in the late 1950s on the grounds of the former Candiac Nursery, and it ran for about 60 years before closing for good on October 31, 2019, after it was sold to developer Groupe Maison Candiac. The roughly 52-hectare site, which was resold to Groupe Boda in 2021, is now a fenced, overgrown former golf course that is still zoned recreational. The city, residents and regional plans want to turn it into a nature park, while the owner is fighting the city in court.
