History
The Country Club of Montreal was founded on November 17, 1910, on land along Riverside Drive in Saint-Lambert. The land had earlier been used for polo and, from 1903, by the Victoria Golf Country Club. The club bought the land in 1911 and grew from nine holes to eighteen. It added land on the Préville side in 1959. Around 1970 the extension of Queen Boulevard cut through the course, and in 1974 Roy Dye of Pete Dye and Associates redesigned it. The club says it is where the golf term "mulligan" began.
