History
Larry McCooey laid out a rough nine-hole course for his own use in 1923 on pasture he rented from farmer Owen Lacharity below his cottage in Chelsea. In 1924 he and some neighbouring cottagers formed a club and named it Larrimac after him. The club later bought its land from the Gatineau Power Company, was incorporated in 1932, added tennis in 1937 and built a new clubhouse in 1948. It celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024.
