History

The club dates from 1899 and moved to its Westchester Avenue site around 1909-1910, where it first played a nine-hole course. Stanley Thompson renovated the greens in 1926, and in 1947 Thompson and Robert Trent Jones were hired to add a second nine and rework the first, with the 18-hole course opening on June 12, 1949. The private club also runs curling, a pool and a fitness centre, and it has hosted provincial and national championships.
