History
Rideau View was founded by members of Ottawa's Jewish community, who met in 1955 and formally established the club in 1956–57 on about 200 acres near Manotick. Howard Watson designed the first nine holes, which opened for play in 1958, and Robbie Robinson's second nine completed the 18-hole layout in 1962. Membership restrictions were lifted in 1971, and the course was later reworked by Graham Cooke, Doug Carrick and consulting architect Ian Andrew.
