History

Developer Mort Kalin founded the club as Rideau Carleton Golf and Yacht Club, a golf course with housing around it, on two farms beside the Rideau River. Golf professional Bob Paluzzi and Kalin laid out the first nine holes, which opened in 1963, and a second nine followed in 1965. Members bought the club in 1967 and still own it; Ian Andrew drew up a new master plan for the course in 2012.
