History

The Ayers family of Lachute, who owned a farm on Lac Carling, had Stanley Thompson design a private nine-hole course there, and it opened in 1945. In 1961 Howard Watson designed the present 18-hole course. The property was sold to Herbert Hillebrand in 1984, and that same year Jean Millaire, Louis Michaud and André Gagnier began running it as a public course. It now operates as part of the Hôtel du Lac Carling resort.
