History
The nine-hole course was built for Major-General D.M. Hogarth on his estate, Mardon Lodge, above Kempenfelt Bay south of Barrie. Stanley Thompson designed it between about 1932 and 1937; one source dates it to 1927. It is still played as Allandale Golf Course, and the Stanley Thompson Society considers it one of the least-altered Thompson designs in Ontario.
