History
In 1911 cottagers on Lake Muskoka, mostly Americans, formed the Beaumaris Golf and Tennis Association. It leased a 5-hole golf course and tennis courts from the Beaumaris Hotel on Tondern Island, made the course 9 holes, and expanded it to 18 holes in 1919. The hotel burned in 1945. The par-66 course is now run by the private Beaumaris Yacht Club.
