History
The Couchiching Golf and Country Club opened on June 3, 1915, on Peter Street North in Orillia. George Cumming laid out the original nine holes, and the club paid for it by selling $100 shares to local businessmen. In the mid-1920s Stanley Thompson updated and lengthened the course. The old clubhouse was torn down in 2001, and the course is still a nine-hole semi-private club.
