History
Developer Marc Cavotti bought the former Silverthorn farm along Etobicoke Creek in 1958 and developed it as a golf course and residential subdivision. Eric Hanson designed the course, raising the tees and greens about six feet above the floodplain, and Al Balding became the first head professional in 1964. Building the Bloor Street bridge in the early 1970s forced changes to the 1st and 9th holes, and all of the bunkers were rebuilt with architect Cam Tyers after a severe flood in 2013.
