History
Rosemere Golf Club was founded in 1922 on a 60-hectare site on boulevard Labelle in Rosemère. James Buchanan oversaw the course layout, and construction began after the land was bought in 1923; money problems during the Depression meant the full 18 holes were not finished until 1937. Because of financial difficulties, the club sold the property to real estate developers in 2018 and moved to the former Fontainebleau course in Blainville for the 2019 season. The old course is now vacant land, and its future is disputed: the developers proposed a residential project, which led to a lawsuit against the town, while residents and the town have pushed to keep much of the site as green space.
