History
Maple Downs was founded in 1954 by Jewish golfers who could not get into other private clubs in Toronto. American architect William F. Mitchell laid out the 18 holes over the hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine. Doug Carrick and Graham Cooke made smaller updates over the years, and in 2014 Ian Andrew carried out a major renovation that brought back features of Mitchell's design. He also added a three-hole short course for practice.
