History
Summit was founded in May 1912 as Toronto's ninth golf club, with an original routing laid out by George Cumming and founding member George S. Lyon; the first round was played in July 1919. Stanley Thompson was hired in 1919 to build the permanent course, which officially opened on July 21, 1921. Bob Cupp worked on the course in the 1980s, and Doug Carrick later rebuilt the greens (14 of them in 2015) and reworked the seventh hole.
