History
Shawneeki Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course on Woodbine Avenue in Sharon, East Gwillimbury, just north-east of Newmarket. Its roots go back to 1959, and it has gone by several names and been through many design changes. The land was once farmed by the Quaker settler Isaac Pegg, and a cairn marking the Pegg family burial plot stands between the 4th and 5th holes. David Moote later reworked several of the finishing holes to make room for a new practice facility.
